Reflections on The Conveyancing Association’s 2025 Conference: Key Takeaways

Last week, Auxilio attended and exhibited at the Conveyancing Association’s 2025 Conference at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate. As one of the key conveyancing industry events of the year, the conference brought together legal professionals, industry leaders, and technology providers to discuss the evolving challenges and opportunities in conveyancing.

With this year’s theme—"Past, Present, and Future"—the conference focused on where the industry stands today and how it is preparing for a truly digital end-to-end conveyancing process by 2030.

Key Themes from the Event

The Economy and Housing Market in 2025
The day began with a keynote from Roger Martin-Fagg, a Behavioural Economist, who shared insights into the economic landscape and its implications for the property market. With affordability, mortgage trends, and transaction volumes shaping the sector, firms must stay agile in response to shifting market conditions.

Technology and AI in Conveyancing
A recurring theme across the event was the role of technology and AI in streamlining the conveyancing process. Speakers from Ochresoft, TM Group, Dye & Durham, and Pexa explored how automation, digital tools, and AI-driven solutions are helping firms improve efficiency, manage risk, and enhance client experiences. Discussions highlighted that while technology is key to progress, firms need the right support, training, and resources to implement digital changes effectively.

🔹 Recruitment and Workforce Challenges
The issue of talent attraction and retention remains a critical concern for many firms. A discussion led by Nick Hale from ONP explored whether the current recruitment landscape is a challenge or an opportunity, given the shortage of experienced conveyancers and increasing workload pressures. The conversation reinforced the need for firms to adopt flexible working models, upskill their teams, and consider outsourcing certain tasks to help balance caseloads.

The Future of Pricing in Conveyancing
A dedicated session on pricing models—featuring industry leaders from Kiteleys Solicitors, Knights, Gordon Brown Law, and Fidler & Pepper—explored whether the current structure of legal fees is sustainable in a changing market. As client expectations evolve and firms seek greater efficiency, discussions highlighted the importance of balancing value and affordability in service delivery.

Auxilio at the Conference

As an exhibitor, we had the opportunity to meet with conveyancers, law firms, and industry stakeholders to discuss the growing role of outsourcing in helping firms manage workloads more efficiently.

Our "Crack the Code" challenge at the Auxilio stand sparked great conversations about the biggest pressures facing the industry—rising caseloads, compliance challenges, and time-consuming administrative tasks. It was great to see so many attendees take part while learning about how outsourcing can free up valuable time for legal professionals.

Looking Ahead

The Conveyancing Association Conference 2025 reinforced how rapidly the sector is evolving. From technology adoption to workforce challenges, law firms are navigating a landscape that demands efficiency, flexibility, and innovation.

At Auxilio, we remain committed to supporting firms with tailored conveyancing outsourcing services, helping them free up time, manage resources effectively, and focus on delivering exceptional client service.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stand and took the time to chat with us. If we didn’t get the chance to connect, or if you'd like to explore how Auxilio can support your firm, feel free to get in touch—we’d love to continue the conversation.
